Biography

Simon Hadchity (born 9 September 1970) is a well-known Lebanese singer. He spent his childhood in the North of Lebanon in Karm Sadde.
He studied in Beirut near Byakout, then moved to Jounieh during the period of the Lebanese civil war.
Since he was a child, he used to sing in his school and he joined a musical group in 1986 when he was the main singer in the group.

Professional Career:
In 1988 he met with composer Georges Mardirossian and worked on his first song “Ana Liyya”
The song became a major hit and a big success in all radios and on Lebanon’s most popular television station LBC.
And he worked on more than five songs with Georges Mardirossian, followed with other top composers such as Samir Sfeir, Souhail Fares, Wissam al Amir and many more.

He released the famous song “Sawtak Habibi” in 1990 which was a major hit in Lebanon and took Simon to a new level of fame in Lebanon and the region. After this song, he started performing mainly in Lebanon and Syria.

After the success of Sawtak Habibi, Simon released a full Live album with Radio Strike named “Sayf 1991” (The summer of 1991) and it contained many folklore songs which became a big success on the Radio and across all radios in the Levant.

His second album “Mosh 3aref” was released in 1992 and contained many Egyptians songs.
Then he released another album “Wahyatek” of six songs with Rotana record label in 1993, with songs from Mardirossian, Samir Sfeir, and Suhail Fares.

In 1995, he released his single “3eni Ma 3eshgat Siwakom” which was a very big success also. The song was filmed and directed by Director Mirna Khayyat and Tony Abou Elias. Then he released “Dakhlak Ya Layl” composed by Salim Salame, and “Kenna bhal Bayt Sohranin”.

In 1996 he released his big hit “Alba M3alla2 Fiyye” by Salim Salame and Nashed Iskandar. And the song was also at the top charts.

In 1996 also he released the biggest hit in his career “Aleem Allah” (Alim Allah), a song by composed by George Mardirossian and written by Adel Raffoul. It was filmed and directed by Tony Kahwaji. And because of this song, he toured the world and performed on many big stages, including Jarash festival in Jordan, and Al Fohays also in Jordan, Cartage theatre in Tunis, Monastir in Tunis also, in the USA, Australia, and across Europe, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and other major cities around the world.

Simon also performed in Beirut in one of the biggest events in Lebanon at the “Forum de Beirut” with the famous Angela Dimitriou and Rachid Taha in 1998. The concert was produced by MTV Lebanon.

In 1999 he released “Ya Zarif Al Toul” and “Retani Nasma”

Then he took a break from singing due to issues with his record label, and in 2005 he released a national song “Ba3dou el 7elem 3enna”

In 2007 he came back to the music scene with a new song named “Jayi La 3endak” composed by Jad Mhanna, written by Ahmad Abdel Nabi, and arranged by Bilal Al Zain. And he filmed a music video with director Eli Srour (EFX Films)

In 2008 he released “Bakkir” composed by Hicham Boulos, written by Mounir About Assaf, and arranged by Bilal Al Zayn, and filmed another music video with director Eli Srour (EFX Films)

In 2010 he released a single “Ba3sha2 bi Jnoun” composed by Hicham Boulos, written by Mounir About Assaf, and arranged by Bilal Al Zayn, and also filmed a video clip with director Eli Srour (EFX Films)

In 2012 he released another single named “Baaref Baddik” composed and arranged by Jean-Marie Riachi, and a filmed a music video directed by Patrick Rahme.

In 2013 he released a new single “Men Kelmi” with a different music style, composed by Jean Saliba, written by Adel Raffoul, and arranged by Jad Abouzeid. The video clip was filmed by Fahed Bare’ and released on major TV stations.

In 2014 he released the song “Beshwesh” composed by Talal Darour and arranged by Mohib Al Rawi.

In 2015 he sang “Kaso La Bayyek Kaso” in a live concert and the song was a success in major clubs.

In 2017 he released his come back single “Ana wel Gharam” which was a big hit on all radios and televisions. The song was composed by Mahdi Al Shaykh, written by Majed Zraykat, and arranged by Sami Bitar. The song was dedicated to the Lebanese music legend “Melhem Barakat” and was also recorded with his musicians as a tribute to his outstanding music career and songs.

In 2018 Simon released another new hit single “3ala Fekra” also composed by Mahdi Al Shaykh and written by Majed Zraykat, and arranged by Jad Abouzeid. The song was produced at JALEX studios, and it was released exclusively on Anghami music portal, then released on all radio stations across Lebanon and the Middle East.

In mid 2018, Simon released a remake of his most famous song “Aleem Allah” which was a constant hit for over two decades. A classic song in every sense, and a music track that topped the charts across the Middle East and North Africa, and was still constantly played in most venues, clubs and radios.
The remake was a modern version introducing new musical elements and grooves, while keeping the original sounds and vibe, and it was another collaboration with arranger and music producer Jad Abouzeid, with the participation of DJ Fady Bitar who worked on the beat and structure of the new remake.
Simon also filmed a new music video for the remake “Aleem Allah 2018” with director Nabil Mehchi, and DOP Mounah Saliba, with a special appearance of the Lebanese actor Talal Jurdi.
